Trying to adjust my sleep schedule by waking up earlier (not going to bed earlier) and surprisingly enough I got up just fine after almost going back to sleep. The rainy 5 AM ambiance is very much worth forcing myself out of the bed though.
This layout is less than three months old but I already feel like doing something a bit new. It's a bit silly since I haven't even told anyone about this page. I guess I should do an archive page for all past layouts like one did in the good old days of web.

Spent the weekend suffering from a cold, did not love it. While I was bedridden I came to think I could just publish new status posts directly from GitHub website UI so that's the real reason I'm typing this.

I took an extra day off last Friday and finally decided to learn how to use Ableton Live. I ended up working pretty much non-stop on music for the entire day and a good chunk of Saturday, too, and I think I can now handle the basics pretty well. Obviously producing a good track is a totally new skill I'll still have to learn but at least I can use the software after all these years of just wishing I could.
Feels wild I can suddenly make all the songs I've always wanted to. Kinda sad I think I've lost the old stuff I made (and all the awful lyrics I wrote) way back as a teen, could have been fun to redo some of those and look if was anything worthwhile there.

So, 11ty is the static site generator I use to put these pages together. These status updates, for example, are all written in separate files, and on each build, 11ty makes this list page and shows them in reverse chronological order.
Right now, these entries use "git Created" as the date field based on which they're sorted. But I'm a bit worried I mess up something and I end up losing the timestamps for all the posts here. So I need to figure out a good way to automatically write a static timestamp in every post. I don't want to do that by hand, but I also don't want to rely on the git Created date being available forever.

Picked up this neat little booklet/compilation album about "classic" era shoegaze at the library along with a couple other cds.
Also added a pagination to this site. You can't use it yet though since there's not enough posts. Gonna be tragic if I never hit the threshold to create a second page.

I've always started my day with a cup of black tea but yesterday I brewed a bug cup of green tea instead and had some instant coffee with flavored oat milk with that. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I really like the silly oat milks that suddenly popped in my local stores. The banoffee one is probably my favorite, but sadly we're out of it.

I set up this status or microblog or whatever page today. It was partly inspired by this video I watched earlier today. I'm bad at posting everyday stuff at social media but maybe if it's just a small corner on my website it doesn't feel so awkward.
Also I will probably forget this in a heartbeat, but at least it's fun to do right now.
